Saree Saga

Wearing sarees hands down is my most favorite thing to do. I love how versatile styling these beautiful nine yards is. This week I stole this beautiful Kalamkari saree from my moms closet. The saree had checks all over with a beautifully worked border. Not going the mainstream way of wearing a blouse I teamed this saree with a solid black Forever 21 t-shirt which most of us own in our closets. The t-shirt has a low scooped back which gives the saree a very sexy look. I added a broad belt which I got ages ago and never got around to wearing it. Broad belts are amazing, if you have a skinny waistline it emphasizes it and in my case snitches it  (even the tiniest bit helps :P). The belt along with the t-shirt as a blouse give the sareea very modern look. If you arent feeling the t-shirt and belt you can always switch these for a crop top, off shoulder crop tops with sarees look amazing. Also, pleating the pallu and draping it loosely over the shoulder looks great if you arent a big fan of wearing belts.

I and Shaila are absolute suckers for Silver jewelry , I accessorized the outfit with my favourite silver Jhumkas. I kept my footwear very basic and opted for the black Call it Spring stilettos from Jabong. Doing my hair is my favorite part of dressing up , I opted for space buns with twits in the front which give that extra edge to the whole look. You could also wear your hair down or tie a top knot to complete the look.
